While lockdowns can be a stressful time, we can still take steps to ensure our physical and mental wellbeing. Here are some tips to maintaining a balanced lifestyle!
Eating healthy
Our diet is such an important part of our day. Having a good breakfast often sets us in the right mood to start our day productively. Make sure you’re having a good balance of fresh veggies and protein in order to feed your body the nutrition it needs. Without the option of eating out, now might also be the perfect time to learn some new recipes. You’ll feel such a sense of pride after preparing a delicious meal yourself.
Physical exercise
Getting enough sport is essential to maintaining a healthy lifestyle. If possible, try to do at least 1 hour of sport daily, this can range from running to yoga to simply walking in the park. As long as you’re moving your body, you’re giving it a rest after hours of remaining still. If intensive sport is not your cup of tea, why not try something fun like learning a dance?
Social life
With us all stuck at home during lockdown, maintaining social interactions becomes more important than ever. Reaching out to your friends online and asking them how they are can help to strengthen friendships even when we can’t catch up in person. It’s also fun to gather a group of friends and have a Games Night, or better yet, have a Netflix party and watch a movie together – it’ll be just like the cinemas!
Take up a hobby
Having a hobby can dramatically decrease stress levels and help us unwind from a long day of work or study. A hobby that we’ve had for years is a great companion in these difficult times, while a new hobby can be an interesting challenge as well! Whether it’s baking, knitting, or painting, trying out something new can put you in a different mindset and open new worlds.
Hopefully we’ve given you some ideas on how to spend your time in lockdown productively while maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Remember to look after yourself, and look out for those around you!
